Superb Blue wren, fairy wren, blue wren.... these delightful little birds are common in Tasmanian bushland and home gardens. Typical of birds, the adult males have the distinctive bright blue plumage , more pronounced in mating season. This bird is happily sitting out of harm's way in a gum tree (Eucalypt). The leaves of the tree are painted loosely in a manner influenced by Chinese brush painting. Rather than each leaf being rigidly down and rendered, the draping foliage is captured through fluid brush strokes with the full body of a loaded brush. This artwork is now available as a reproduction on a greeting card or wall art.... standard A4 is with a border but I can print borderless on request.  Also available A3.
