An original painting in miniature using my own technique with encaustic wax medium. The transparent layers allow light to reflect through the colour off the silver back. This contrasts with the opaque areas of colour. Being painted with wax the image is 3 dimensional. Much more impressive in real life than in a photo due to the difficulty photographing a reflective convex item with a reflective layer behind. 33 mm painting. Nickel free silver plated setting.
