Whether doing a traditional work or abstracted, and whatever the subject, when painting in watercolour the whites are critical to give the inherent freshness and life which is the hallmark of traditional watercolour. There are many ways to preserve the whites… negative space, dry brush, resist techniques, blotting,masking, lifting, squeegy-ing…… and other methods to regain lost whites….. pastel, scraping, lifting, sanding,gouache, pastel, oil pastel……. Learn these techniques and when each is the best choice. Saturday’s Watercolour workshop. Beginners to those who have painted more… it will be worthwhile for all. 10 a.m to 3 p.m $55 includes materials.
