This is not finished but shows a work in progress using the watercolour and Derwent Inktense Pencils which I have used often for floral, beach pebble and shell paintings.

For this work I used the same reference photos as for earlier paintings shown in a post on watercolours of seaweed (bull kelp). The colours here are more vibrant which adds to the abstract quality. Time consuming but I am enjoying playing with the shapes, colour, overlaying of pencils and variation in stroke through for example change of pressure. Tomorrow I will be taking a workshop on working with this medium at Meander Valley Arts. Lovely people… lots of enthusiasm… should be fun.
