New Acrylic on Canvas

Travelling to Stanley earlier in the year I was entranced by the intensity of the blues/turquoises of water over warm white sand at East Inlet. Bonus: eveything was in the landscape layers I love…. horizontals are relaxing and give a sense of going on for ever. I have captured the beauty in this painting, even managing to capture the transparencyof the shallows through a newlydeveloped use of media. Being there I yearned to get to the far dune… looking at my painting that dune still beckons me.

Flinders Islqand and the east coast with their quartz rich sands would also benefit from the same approach.

Love the picture. I also feel like reaching that dune. Hope that I might capture a similar essence of feeling in my next Flinders Island paintings. Beginning to enjoy working with acrylics more and more, so much easier to cover up mistakes,
    cheers Marguerite
    PS See you tomorrow.

  2. Thanks Marguerite. I am enjoying the different thicknesses of acrylics but suspect I will never completely abandon watercolour. This one is on display at Penguin Market Artspace at present.
